ROKU KYOTO is the first Asia-Pacific property of LXR Hotels & Resorts, the luxury brand of Hilton, and the first Hotel of the Hilton Group in Kyoto. The hotel is located in the famous scenic area of Hawk Peak and Sanzan, north of Kyoto, and is connected to Kinkakuji Temple and Mt. Zuo Daimonji, which is a unique geographic location, making the word Resorts a real honor.

The landscape and architecture were designed by an experienced Japanese team, while the interior was designed by BLINK. The overall style is derived from Kyoto, but transcends it. Since its opening in September 2021, it has won numerous awards and accolades.

Since the Amman hotel is a close neighbor, the design is centered around the key word "resort" while focusing on differentiation. The overall layout of the hotel introduces a north-south axis that isolates the hotel from the noise of the city, as well as an east-west promenade that connects the guest rooms and other facilities. In contrast to the Amman's return to simplicity, the landscape boldly adopts the design of a large-scale quiet water surface that washes away the glamor and brings the scenery into the garden, presenting guests with an infinite stretch of scenery.

In front of such a magnificent scenery, the most difficult thing for landscape designers is to restrain the desire to create scenery, and to present and reflect the beauty for the guests with a humble attitude. The designer boldly utilizes the techniques of "axis of vision-continuous scenery" and "reflection" to divide the whole project into the following five areas.
  1. The view of the building in close proximity to the human scale;
  1. The atrium (Eagle's Peak Forest) on the sightline axis from south to north; 3、Great water view (reflecting Eagle Peak Mountain);
  1. Four-season heated hot spring swimming pool;
  1. The large platform of Paper House River.

The framed view of the building and the grille; the water feature, the reflection, and the lobby entrance that condenses the view not only collects the sight lines of the visitors, but also foretells the blooming view of the garden.

After checking in, you'll make your way to the Eagle Crest No Mori Atrium, which sits on the north-south axis. The view of the mountains in the distance is breathtaking.

The corner at the end of the atrium is filled with the best of Kyoto's gardening techniques.

When you follow the eaves that carefully present the beautiful scenery, when you turn a corner and reflect the water of the Qingxiu Mountain View, not only your eyes but also your heart will be enlightened. Between the sight lines, guests can experience the hotel's meticulous care. The quietness and softness of the water view add a part of the beauty of Kyoto to the vacation.

The ripples of light on the east-west corridor attract people to go forward, and when you look into the distance, the color of the pond and the mountains and the exquisite chapel make you feel as if you were in a beautiful fairy tale town.

After entering the room, you can overlook the view of the atrium, the green of the courtyard and the mountains in the background, such as drums and pianos.

Located in the northernmost part of the building is a natural hot spring water pool that is heated throughout the year. All structures that obstruct the view have been removed, and the neighboring Shozan garden has been integrated into the landscape.

The restaurant terrace facing the river is undoubtedly the most pleasant place to enjoy the scenery in all seasons. The trees on the other side of the river are so thick that they seem to be able to stir up the trickling water of the Shinya River. With a view like this, even your taste buds will be excited.
