😀
As twilight falls, the streets of Saga are dimly lit
And when all this has faded away
Izakaya nights are all that's left
The food on the table, the sake in your hand
All the flavors of life are here in this four-sided dining hall.

🤗 1. Yakiniku Kakura

Yakiniku restaurant Kakura is located a minute's walk from the north exit of JR Saga Station. We recommend the Saga beef loin, a must-try, which is charcoal-grilled and has a Meladic reaction on the surface, adding to the richness of the flavor. In addition to yakiniku, rice and homemade almond tofu are also popular. Drinks include beer, sake, shochu, wine, Korean rice wine and cocktails, but the best thing to do is to enjoy Saga's food with locally produced sake.

🤗 2. Aquaculture

Just a few minutes from the station, you can get enough Saga seafood to wake up every inch of your peripheral nerves at Keisui Seafood. The sashimi platter is filled with the freshest fish of the season, and each piece is so tender and flavorful that it melts in your mouth. In addition to sashimi, the restaurant offers 10 different types of locally brewed sake, allowing you to experience Saga's unique brewing techniques and flavors. The restaurant's signature dish, the Omotodo Sizzle, has the aroma and tender meat of the Omotodo from the Ariake Sea that has been sizzled. Finally, as a conclusion, we recommend the freshly made oversized rice balls with sea urchin that will make even the picky gourmet fall in love.

🤗 3. Burning Bird Hikiyama

Hikiyama Yakitoriya is famous for the freshness and crispness of the local specialty, Arata chicken. The signature dish, “Arata Chicken Skewer Platter,” is made from high-quality Arata chicken, carefully marinated and cut into small pieces, skewered, and grilled over a charcoal fire. With the aroma of the charcoal fire, the chicken meat is tender, the skin is crispy, and each skewer is full of aroma, texture, and rich in meat juice. Especially the chicken skin and thigh meat are grilled to a crispy perfection, which makes you crave for more.

🤗 4. Food for Thought Market Genki Mark

One of the most recommended dishes at EatSmart Genki Kouki is the hoko squid sashimi, which is famous for its fresh and crispy texture. Fresh squid is sliced into thin slices and placed on a plate with a mouth-watering crystal clarity. Each slice carries the fresh flavor of the sea, making for a memorable experience. Don't forget to try the local traditional dish “Roasted Dried Sea Mushroom”. Dried sea mushrooms are roasted to give them a distinctive flavor and aroma, and they are a favorite drink of the local people in Saga Prefecture.

🤗 5. Izakaya children

The smell of Showa wafts through the air as you enter Izakaya Kid, where many of the local regulars meet for a drink. Grilled and fried chicken, ribs, and seafood are all served in generous portions, and the large sashimi platters, in particular, are surprisingly well-priced. The local sake “Tenzan” is available for tasting and is recommended for those who want to enjoy local sake. In addition to counter seating, there are also tatami rooms available, so it is recommended to call ahead on weekends to make a reservation.
